“When we decided to build a new house, our goal was to create a useful space that was also aesthetically pleasing. At the outset, we really didn’t understand the scale of the undertaking – though the house would not be large – or that meeting our objectives would require such a multitude of decisions large and small.
Enter Sherri Tracinski and Bill Ware. Sherri and Bill listened to the raw material of our ideas, took the time to understand our aesthetic sensibilities, and helped clarify our use cases for the new space. Happily, the plans they came up with fit our budget, but they did much more than that– they brought to life a space that, when it was finished, felt like an ideal version of what we’d imagined, though we never could have articulated it, designed it, or built it ourselves.
Their talent and good humor made a long process quite enjoyable.”— Aran & MArgot
Custom Design-Build Home/Charlottesville
We tore down an old 660 sq ft home on this lot to make way for this highly custom home designed to meet the very specific needs of two professional writers, along with their family and friends.
With very detailed input from our clients, architect Sherri Tracinski designed this style forward two-story to accommodate two 2nd story writing studios separated by a wide open loft area bathed in natural light, along with a completely self contained Main Level with a cozy Living Room, a Master Bedroom and a full bath with universal design shower and kitchen featuring custom-color cabinets and soapstone countertops.
With direction from our clients, we installed a solar array which covers one side of the roof and placed rain barrels to gather irrigation water. A stamped concrete patio adds to the ambiance of the outdoor entertainment area.
